Offshore Powerboat Cruising Course Accepting Reservations For Winter

North Fort Myers, Florida- Florida Sailing and Cruising School (FS&CS) will take advanced nautical students on eight-day motoryacht cruises from Fort Myers to Key West and back December 8-16 and again February 4-12.

Only four students are accepted for each course, Offshore Powerboat Cruising (P-103). The course is designed to strengthen students' pratical offshore cruising skills. Students plan, prepare and provision for the cruise. They must maintain the vessel's systems while underway, navigate offshore and at day and night, gain speed and proficiency in marine electronics, secure the vessel for overnight anchorages, and more.

To participate, students must have taken and passed Inland Powerboat Cruising (P102) or demonstrate equivalent inland and coastal cruising experience.

FS&CS is also accepting reservations for Inland Powerboat Cruising and Basic Power Boating, both three-day liveaboard courses, and for Combination Handling and Cruising (P-101 and P-102), a comprehensive six-day course. First Mate, a two-day course combining boat and classroom instruction, teaches the first mate on board the safe boating and seamanship skills necessary to be an effective first mate on a recreational powerboat.
